At CADlink Technology Corporation (CADlink), protecting your privacy is important to us and we are dedicated to maintaining and protecting the customer information under our control. As part of this commitment, CADlink has adopted the following ten Privacy Principles based upon Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act.
- ACCOUNTABILITY FOR CUSTOMER INFORMATION
CADlink is responsible for the customer information under its control. We have designated a Corporate Privacy Officer who is accountable for CADlink's compliance with the Privacy Principles.
The types of customer information we may ask for depend on the nature of the interaction with CADlink and may include an individual or business name, address, telephone number, email address, identification numbers, credit card numbers, bank account and other financial information.
- IDENTIFYING PURPOSES
CADlink will identify the purpose for which customer information is collected, at or before the time such information is collected. Generally, we collect, use and disclose customer information to provide you with the products and services you have requested and to offer you additional products, services and information that we believe you might be interested in.
You can visit CADlink's websites at any time without telling us who you are and without revealing any customer information. However, you may choose to give us customer information voluntarily in a number of situations. For example, you may give us your email address to correspond with you or your credit card details to buy our products.
Your consent is required for the collection, use and disclosure of customer information, except where required or permitted by law. With your consent, we may collect customer information from you in person, over the telephone or by corresponding with you via mail, fax, the Internet or other means. It is always your choice to provide us with customer information. However, your decision to withhold particular details may limit our ability to provide you with our products and services.
The method of obtaining consent is appropriate to the type of customer information being collected, used or disclosed:
- CADlink will obtain your express consent (verbal, written or electronic agreement) to collect, use or disclose customer financial information
- CADlink will use implied consent to collect, use or disclose your customer information where a customer relationship already exists and/or express consent has been given previously
CADlink collects customer information to provide products, services and information to you by fair and lawful means only.
Our websites log Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, but not the email addresses, of visitors for the purposes of system administration, gathering statistical information about usage of the sites and improving the content and usage of our sites. We do not ordinarily link a user's IP address to identifiable customer information, which means that your session will be logged but you will remain anonymous to us unless you choose to provide customer information. However, we can and will use IP addresses to identify users of our websites when we feel it is necessary to enforce compliance in cases where we reasonably believe it is required by law or to protect our service, our webites or other users on our websites.
A technology called cookies may be used to provide you with customizable information and to allow you to register on our websites. A cookie is a tiny element of data that a website can send to your browser, which then may be stored on your hard drive so that we can recognise you when you return. You can choose whether or not to receive a cookie by changing the setting of your browser. If you choose not to accept cookies, your experience on our websites may be limited and some features will not work as intended.
LIMITING USE, DISCLOSURE AND RETENTION
CADlink uses and discloses your customer information only for the purposes for which it was collected, unless you have consented otherwise, or as required or permitted by law. The type of information we are legally required to disclose may relate to criminal investigations or government tax reporting requirements. In some instances, such as a legal proceeding or court order, we also may be required to disclose certain information to authorities. Only the information specifically requested is disclosed and we take precautions to satisfy ourselves that the authorities making the request have a legitimate basis for it. Some situations where we are permitted legally to disclose customer information include employing reasonable and legal methods to enforce our rights under our agreements, to collect a delinquent account or to investigate suspected illegal activity.
CADlink does not sell or rent customer information to any organization or person for any reason. CADlink does not share your customer information with third party organizations except in the course of its normal business activities. Most often this relates to the use of a third party to process credit card orders of our products and services. We may also use third parties to provide us with various services such as mail distribution from time to time. All third parties are required to protect your customer information in a manner consistent with our privacy polices and procedures.
CADlink retains your customer information only for as long as required to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected or as required by law.
We will make all reasonable efforts to ensure that any customer information relevant to its intended use is kept as accurate, complete and up-to-date as possible. In order to do so, we will rely on you to a large extent to provide us with accurate information and to inform us of any changes to that information.
CADlink is committed to protecting your customer information from unauthorized access or use with security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including:
- physical security measures such as restricted access facilities and locked filing cabinets
- electronic security measures such as password protection, personal identification numbers and industry-standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption to protect the information you transmit to the CADlink websites.
- organizational processes such as limiting access to personal information to specific individuals and staff training
- contractual obligations requiring third parties to whom CADlink releases your customer information to protect and secure the information
Unauthorized access to and/or disclosure of customer information by a CADlink employee is stictly prohibited. All employees and third party contractors are expected to maintain the confidentiality of customer information at all times and failing to do so will result in appropriate disciplinary measures, which may include dismissal.
CADlink is committed to providing you with information about our policy and practices related to the management of customer information.
Upon written request, CADlink will provide access, with certain exceptions as permitted by law, to the customer information we have on record. Cadlink will:
INQUIRIES AND CONCERNS
- inform you about what type of customer information we have on record or in our control, how it is used and to whom it may have been disclosed
- provide you with access to your information so you can review and verify the accuracy and completeness and request changes to the information
- make any necessary changes to the information as appropriate
You may contact us if you have any questions, concerns or complaints about the privacy of your customer information or our privacy policies and practices by contacting:

Forum Rules -- Please Read
The CADlink forums will be released to the public starting in December '05
The primary function of this message board is to provide an area for user interaction and also to submit feedback to the development and publishing teams behind the products you've come to know and love.
Please keep in mind that this is a board solely dedicated to Cadlink Products - therefore, discussions having nothing to do with these products (for example, real world news/matters) will be removed. We would like to keep this board CADlink specific, and therefore encourage you to participate in other message boards available on the Internet should you wish to participate in non Cadlink related discussions. We welcome any topics on this board that directly relate to Signs, Digital graphics and/or Engraving and routing.
We have created the following list of message board rules and guidelines to keep this an enjoyable environment for us all. Violations of these guidelines may result in your removal from this message board
- Post in the correct forum and do not cross-post.
If you are unsure of where to place a post, choose the single most appropriate forum. No need to cross-post to multiple forums - we'll see the post no matter where you place it. If you cross post, or spam the forum, your posts will be removed and you will be contacted for violating the forum rules.
- Keep feedback constructive.
All feedback on our products is appreciated as long as it is constructive. Keep it straightforward and include examples and facts when applicable. For example, "This program is **** !" is not constructive feedback. "I am way annoyed with the following things about the program and here's why." is constructive and useful to us. The best way to get your opinions recognized is not to be abusive or offensive, but to be constructive and communicate in a mature fashion.
I'm leaving' threads are removed due to the inevitable flaming that immediately ensues. They are thus no more than troll threads. We welcome constructive feedback and are always sorry when a customer is unhappy.
- Keep feedback high-quality.
Please avoid frivolous and duplicate postings. For example, threads made just because you want to be the 'first post' in a newly created section of the board, are not quality postings and cause us extra work to remove.
Avoid posting random and off-topic conversation in the General Discussion forum. Off-topic threads/posts will be removed without notice or explanation.
- Know the search function. Use the search function.
Before you ask a question, please check the Cadlink.com website. If your answer is not there, please use the 'Search' function located at the top of every page of the boards. Your question may have already been asked and answered elsewhere on the forums.
- Read before you post.
Development and publishing staff may be posting to several threads on this board, often with explicit information. Before adding a post to a thread, please review the entire thread to be sure that the question you are about to ask hasn't already been answered.
- Hosting your own images.
You will find that we do not host screenshots and other images on this message board. You are more than welcome to link to images hosted in other places (like on your own personal website), as long as they are of an appropriate and non-offensive nature. Links to images that are inappropriate will be removed immediately and you will be contacted for breaking the forum rules.
- Abuse will not be tolerated.
No flaming, trolling, harassing, profanity, abusive language or abbreviations, personal attacks, racial, religious, ethnic, or sexual slurs.
This applies to both 'public' threads and private messages. Do not link out from a post or private message to these types of content.
Flaming is defined as attacking others in harsh, personal terms.
Trolling is defined as deliberately posting derogatory, inflammatory comments/threads in order to bait other users into responding.
Personal attacks include, but are not limited to insulting a poster directly:
EX: "You are stupid, you suck, and you should [censored]."
Directly attacking another poster will result in a warning. If the behavior persists, you will be banned.
No personal attacks against forum moderators. If you disagree with an action taken by a moderator, you can send your complaint via PM to the moderator.
Posting solely to single out a User for ridicule is also prohibited.
- No spamming or thread bumping.
There are no circumstances under which spamming or thread bumping is acceptable. If you ask a question on the board and it hasn't been addressed by a moderator, there is a reason for that (or there is not an answer currently available). Bumping or spamming will not make the answer appear any faster, so please refrain from doing it. This includes, but is not limited to: comments not contributing to the board, advertisements, cross posts, and messages posted repeatedly.
- No 'Petitioning'.
Do not create threads/posts to 'petition' CADlink for product features, additions, changes, or other issues. You may post suggestions and/or ideas to the boards, but you may not create a 'petition' for others to sign. This is bumping in disguise and will not be allowed.
- No 'Calling Out'.
Do not create threads/posts asking for a Dev or Red Name to address an issue, or respond. Instead, create a well thought out post with a descriptive title. Devs and Red Names read the boards regularly and will see your post. If they have a comment about the issue, they will add it.
- Censorship Posts.
All posts referring to message board censorship will be removed. All message board content is allowed/removed at the discretion of CADlink Technology corp. These posts will be removed and the poster warned. Any further posts will be removed, and the poster will be banned from the message boards. Also, working around a ban to continue posting is also prohibited and may incur an extension of a current ban.
No personal attacks against forum moderators. If you disagree with an action taken by a moderator, you can send your complaint via Private Message to the moderator.
- Bad Word Filter.
The CADlink message board has a bad word filter. Any attempt to circumvent this filter will not be tolerated. First offenders will have their posts removed and will be warned. Subsequent offenses will result in the poster being banned from the message board. Also, working around a ban to continue posting is also prohibited and may incur an extension of a current ban.
- Respect the opinions of others
Often times arguments can't be won, so if you have a contrasting opinion, please state it simply and clearly. If necessary, agree to disagree with others who may have differing opinions. When discussions turn to long, hostile arguments, the thread will be closed or removed.
Also, do not respond to others opinions by suggesting that they "just quit" or with the implication that they are just "whining/crying." This is NOT constructive.
- No signature pictures.
Avatar icons are allowed as long as the images are below 20k in weight. 'Heavier' icons, inappropriate avatars, and any signature pictures will be removed without notice.

Below are the general Rules of Conduct for the official message board. It is your responsibility to familiarize yourself with these rules and follow them!
