Okay, I recieved my null modem cable today and hooked it up. I made sure the serial port was com1 on both ends(Singlab & GX24). I still get the same error message?

Go to device manager/ Ports Com and LPT in control panel.
How many com ports are there?
If com 2 is there, have you tried com2.
Do any of the com ports in device Manager have a red or yellow exclamation mark beside them?
Once again, if you only have com1, select it and press the Delete key on your keyboad to delete it. Reboot the computer. The computer should refind it and readd it automatically.
Then try cutting again. |

| In Device Manager there is only COM1 and LPT1. Neither of them have an exlimation symbol next to them. I deleted COM1 and restarted my computer. When I try to plot the spooler pops up, but no information is being sent. The only thing I noticed that is different is that I do not get any error messages anymore. |

does it show a job in spooler?
There should be a job in the spooler and there should be a STATUS
What is the Status.
Did you click on the START button in the spooler.
You have to cklick Start if aautostart is not enebled.
Try removing the checkmark from SPOOL |

When I use the spooler the status says "sending", but stays at 0%. I push start and stop, but nothing happens.
Without the spooler a window pops up that states:
Cutting to COM1
Bytes sent:0
Waiting for:CTS DSR |

| I changed it and nothing happens. The spooler still pops up and shows a file, but stays at 0%. Is there anything else I can try? Thanks! |

No i give up.
You get waiting for CTS/DSR when Signlab/windows thinks the cutter is OFF, OffLine , cable disconnected, cutting to wrong comport.
Its waiting for a Clear To Send (CTS) and a Data Set Ready (DSR) signal.
you may need to visit a techie
Do you have any other plotters that can be hooked up serial? |

| Okay, thanks for all your help and time. Looks like I will have to cut through Cut Studio in the meantime. |

| try setting the Parity to ODD instead of None, I've had this make a difference before with some serial plotters. |

| I changed the parity to Odd and nothing changed. I changed everything back and will be cutting through Cut Studio. It was worth a try. |
