After a computer upgrade and reinstalling the software whenever we select the braille button to toggle the text into braille it remains at the font's height rather than changing to the .395 height that meets the standard. In the options box you get when right clicking the Braille button the height is set correctly, it is set to Grade 2 and the font is set to BRPUNCH. I have been unable to find whether there is another height options somewhere overriding this.

What can I try next?

Using Engravelab v9

If the BRPUNCH shows as the font when you are typing the text, the braille shows at the text height showing when the braille was typed, if the correct height is showing in the Braille Properties (when you right click the braille button), then when you left click the braille button the braille should revert to the correct height.

You can also type the text using any regular font and clicking the braille button will convert it to the Braille font and height specified.

That is what we're doing right now. Attempting to use the Braille Button, however even though the settings are set properly it does not change the height. Here is a link to an image gallery with some screenshots that include pictured of the Braille button properties as well as the size the braille font becomes (stays at the font the text was) and a size that the font should be. Can you look at Help > About Engravelab and get the date of the software? we can't reproduce this so far.

There is a file called cadlink.ini that is in the folder that EngraveLab is installed in. With EL closed, use Notepad to open this file. Look for a section called

[TextCompose]

Look for the following two lines

BrailleHeight=395
Text Braille Height=0.3950

If you cannot find these lines, try adding them into the [TextCompose] section. If the lines are there but not the correct values as indicated then change to as shown above. Once you have made the changes, click on the File menu and then Save. Try running EL again and see if you can reproduce the problem.

Note that I am not able to duplicate the problem you are experiencing however I am using the current shipping build. You could also try downloading / installing this build. The FTP link is as follows

ftp://ftp.cadlink.com/pub/commercialrelease/EL91_Build8.zip

Sorry for the problems
