TOPIC: How to import PDF file for cutting?

How to import PDF file for cutting? 3 months 3 weeks ago #5767

I have a PDF of a profile I am trying to cut.

I imported it to ProfileLab as a PDF, but I cannot select any of the geometry to use as a tool path.

I have also tried converting it into a BITMAP, same issue.

I am going to try to convert it into a DXF as well, but anytime in the past I have imported DXFs into ProfileLab, it has difficulty properly following radii and the toolpath goes crazy.

The file I am trying to cut and engrave is attached

Any help appreciated!

Unfortunately the part you need is already a bitmap. It is a CMYK bitmap, so will need converting to RGB (Image > mode > Monochrome will work best), then you will need to trace (Vectorise), the image to get a cutable path.

The VPM -Prepare to vectorise wizard tutorial here : www.cadlink.com/index.php/en/infosource-...ls/signlab-tutorials

Will guide you through that.
