This should not be a problem to do.
Load the correct cutter driver, select the port and cut same as you would to any other machine.
Have you tried it?, did you have problems?

Hi ray
no, we haven't tried it yet...we're doing pre-purchase research.
we have a vinyl dept. and a cnc router and want to easily go back and forth between dept. with files so we're thinking profile lab is all we need.

Are you looking for one package to run both machines or just interchangeability with files?

Mainly interchangeability with files.
Each dept. will have their own computer running profilelab and there own cutters (vinyl or cnc)

The process we commonly use is:
Vinyl dept. preps/lays-out files for use by both the vinyl dept and cnc dept.
For example letters in a sign.
Vinyl dept gets the artwork and preps it for vinyl cutting.
Cnc dept will copy that same file but uses only the outline of the letters. Then add plunge/drill holes for mounting. Then cut the letters out of pvc with holes on the back.
Vinyl dept then loads the letters with drill hole pattern the CNC dept created and prints it by putting a pen in the vinyl cutter. This is used for installing the letters to a building face for example.

So the files will be used by both dept. and since signlab will not recognize the plunge/drill makers created in profilelab then we're thinking the vinyl dept needs profilelab.
