“Create Tool Path” or "Apply Tool Path" 1 year 2 weeks ago #6249

What’s the difference between “Create Tool Path” and “Apply Tool Path”?

Create Tool Path allows the user to setup / configure tool path strategies( select tool type, fill routine, set depth, multiple passes etc ). These strategies can be saved in a material library by user defined name ie End Mill 1/2 two pass or however the user wants to name the strategy. The Apply Tool Path option allows for easy access and selection of the saved toolpath strategies and then application to selected vector shapes. Hope that this helps.

Thanks Tim

I played with those two options and I think I have them figured out.
But...which of those two does the "Tool Path Tools" use when applying tool paths?
It appears to apply the last tool path used.

Thanks

When you select the Machine menu and then Apply Tool Path, the Apply Cut Template window is displayed. This window basically displays all the Templates that have been saved in the Create Tool Path workflow. Select one of the Templates and that applies the saved machining strategies to the selected part(s) I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say "Tool Path Tools" Can you be more specific about the menu items / workflow in question. Sorry

Sorry Tim...it's the tool path tools icon on the menu that runs down the left side of the screen.
