We've just upgraded from V5 to V9 due to a computer and OS upgrade. There are a few features I love and a few that are not so good. However, this is a serious issue. Signlab keeps on refreshing/redrawing itself after executing a command. This doesn't happen every time and sometimes the screen will refresh with no input from me. Unsure whether this is a software issue or a computer issue. The activity doesn't happen in Illustrator or any of my other programs.

It maybe that the redraw is slow and that is why you are noticing it. Have a look under the View Menu, and see if Enhanced View is checked, if it is Uncheck this and then retry using it and see if it is any better.

After wasting $100 on a new video card and cable, issue not resolved, I finally figured that you need to run Signlab 9 in compatibility mode for XP if your OS is Windows 7 64 bit. Really expected my dealer and the people at Cadlink to know this, could have saved me a lot of time and expense.

This is not generally the case, I have a number of PC's here and many more users that I am aware of that use Windows7 x64, without having the issues you describe. There must be another underlying cause here, that running in XPmode is circumventing.

I've seen this too, that it does redraws when nothing has actually changed. When there are a lot of lines in the part of the job that shows on the screen it really slows down what you are doing.

It could be that the auto save feature is activating at that point in time. You would see a Saving message across the bottom. If it's a large file, it would take some time to actually save the file.

And there is a screen refresh which occurs after that point.

This isn't much of a solution, as I am trying to confirm what is actually happening. If the auto save is occurring and causing this issue, then we cold disable it, change the timeout value, or just live with it.

Next time it happens check for the saving message at the bottom.
