TOPIC: Pantone colors

Pantone colors 2 years 7 months ago #5219

Is there a way to search and select a pantone color using the pantone color number or is mousing over the pantone swatches the only way?

Thanks

Yes!

1. Click Shop Palette context menu.
2. Click Find Colour.
3. Click Look in Pantone Library.
4. Either search or manually find the colour you are looking for.
5. Click Add to Shop Palette.
6. Colour is added to the left of the shop palette.

Hi, I have used your pantone selection process, when sent to printer the colour is way off from the pantone colour selected against the pantone book/chart.How do I get the colour I.E Pantone 300C to print as shown in pantone book/chart. The printer I use is a Mimaki CJV30-130.
Have sent the file as PDF, EPS, JPEG.

Regards Kev.

Are you printing from VPM or Rasterlink?
Which Pantone palette did you choose your colour from?
Which Signlab package do you use? (Print & Cut, Vinyl pro, etc).
Which pantone chart do you use to compare colours

When you add a Pantone colour from the Solid Coated palette, double click the colour, what colour space does it show as? (eg RGB, CMYK, LAB etc).

It should show as LAB, but if you do not have the Pantone Module activated it will probably only show as RGB, and this might be the issue.
Other possibilities are the colour management settings in Signlab not matching the colour management in Rasterlink try changing the printer profile ICC to the ICC used in Rasterlink, and the final possibility is Rasterlink itself.
