When I finish node editing an object, the object shows as a line and not as a solid color filled object as before editing. I am sure I must have a setting changed somewhere, but have not been able to find it. The rest of the objects of the design still show as filled objects.

First, make sure you don't have an opening between nodes somewhere along the perimeter of the object. If not, determine whether you have a polygon or a polyarc. Change it to the other; then change it back. I don't know why this works, but it has for me.

If it shows as a dashed line try using Arrange > Close Graphics, the dashed line indicates an open path.

Pressing alt-d redraws the screen. This also sometimes solves issues like this as well as removes the artifacts that appear time to time after node editing.
