TOPIC: Signlab Dongle issue in Windows 8.1

Signlab Dongle issue in Windows 8.1 1 year 2 weeks ago #5287

We have Signlab 9.1 Designer on a laptop.
Sometimes when plugging the dongle in it comes up with a message "there's a problem with this drive. Scan the drive now and fix it."
What should I do?

It has always been a pain to have to have a dongle hanging out of this machine as I am always concerned it will get damaged or lost and I wish their was another way to run this programme without the dongle.

You can "Scan & Fix" or Format the Flash drive, it will not affect it's working as a dongle.
Currently we only have dongled versions of Signlab, there is no non-dongled version.

Can it be used as a flash drive?
If so how much storage has it got?

1, 2 or 4gb if I recall correctly and they should contain the licence files for your install. I would not recommend using them as general flash drive, if broken they are much more expensive to replace than a flash drive.

So if I delete or copy the licence files off the Dongle will it still work?
I thought it used the licence files on the dongle?

Yes it will still work, the licence files are on the dongle purely for installation purposes, the licence files only need to be in the Install folder for it to work.
