I was wondering if I can make my own color palette from picking out colors that work the best with my printer for color profiling, so I wouldn't have to file through a bunch of colors all the time. Thanks

Yes you can, you can edit the palette at the bottom and then resave with your own name. Not sure how you intend to add colours, if you know which colours in the current palette are good for printing, create objects on screen and colour each object with a colour you would like to keep. Then use the button[...] to the left of the palette and sort the palette by selected objects, this will move all the active colours to the left end. You also need Black and white, so make sure you include these.
Once you have them sorted, select the last colour you need (The rightmost colour) and select truncate from the same menu. It will leave only the colours you have selected, from the same menu select Save > Save As and give the new palette a new name.
Now from the same menu, choose Load > Set default and browse to the new palette, click Open. Now when you select file > New it will show the new palette at the bottom.

You can add additional colours at any time by dragging from another palette ([...] open manf palette), or double click any colour and create a new colour. remember to save the palette if you add new colours.
