Having problems with using signlab on a plotter its not cutter even or straight lines. if you cut a rectangle and measure each side and middle all three measurements will be different, or try contour cutting it will be off. the plotter is a Gerber EmbossTrack 48.

This is very unlikely to be a software issue.
To check draw a square, plot to the plotter, then in Cut > Plotting Defaults > Setup > Port
make note of the current port, and then change it to FILE.
Now plot the job again, it will ask for a filename, call it PLOT.PLT and save it to your desktop.
You will then be able to import the file back in to Signlab, it should be the same square that you originally designed.(it may be a different size but it should be square), this is what is sent to the cutter, so if the cut is not also square the fault is at the cutter end.

Did you ever get your situation straitened out? Sounds kind of like what mine is doing?
Did you just hook your plotter up or, did the problem just start?
Mine is a new plotter (I know it's a cheap one)
I did what rayw said and mine showed that it is sending the correct info to the plotter.
Looks like my plotter might be junk.
I called Cadlink and Vinylexpress tech support Friday. Have yet to hear from any of them. Hopefully, Monday.

On the cutter itself, press Menu key and search for Testing. Press F1 for Test Cut.
See it the Self Test cut is bad.
Its on page 99 of the embosstrack manual

I had a similar problem a couple years ago and it turned out to be the rubber pinch wheels. The needle bearings had dried out and were binding so bad they would affect the in/out axis cuts. Angled lines and not closing squares by 1/2".
I had to replace the wheels because they were wore out. I was able to get some lube in there to see that this was the problem.
