Could someone help me with designing a Carbon effect in Signlab?
Just the normal black and grey effect would be fine....

Only just started using the programme and I'm lost at the moment..

Hi,
You could create this effect for yourself using rectangles, shading and arrays, but it would be much simpler to import a graphic and clip this to your object.

Search the web for a suitable image.

If you place a shape over the top of the image, select both then use Arrange > Clipping > Clipping, the effect will fill the shape.

Thanks for the reply, not exactly sure how to Arrange or clip just yet?
But I'll give it a try......

I just wanted to maybe design my own and then I could adjust the colour as and when I needed to as I may have a few to do over the next few weeks.
I have just watched a Youtube clip of someone designing one in Photoshop and it did look well and seemed relatively simple to do but don't have Photoshop?

Regards
Ian

I have come up with this, it's basically two rectangles repeated, could not think of a trick way to create an array of these, so had to manually duplicate to get effect. (Hold ALT when you move an object and it will produce a copy).
To create a larger spread just duplicate and move it to the side, top or bottom.

Note: to change colour with this you must use a Spot Colour (SC) or Spot Foil (SF) colour and the Spot Gradient fill tool, you cannot use Process (p) Colours.

Also in the file are the original rectangles the design came from.
