TOPIC: Do I need to upgrade???

Do I need to upgrade??? 1 year 2 months ago #6161

My old Roland plotter died so I bought a Graphtec CE6000-40.
My current version of SignLab is 6.3 I use it for cutting vinyl masks for sandblasting and I don't really need it to do anything more.
Do I need to upgrade to SignLab 10 to get it to run, or can I just download the new drivers and Hasp? Also the OS is Windows XP Service pack 3 Thanks, Bob @ Glass Art

Don't know how your post was deleted.
I restored it.

Yes Signlab 6 can drive your Graphtec.
You don't need a ce6000 driver.
Just use either the Graphtec HPGL or GPGL drivers depending on the language your cutter is set to.

Frank,
Now I'm really confused!
I emailed Cadlink they told me SignLab 6 will not work, so I had to buy SignLab 10 Pro Cut
and a new computer because XP won't work with my plotter and it was too old to upgrade!
So your telling me I spent just south of $1000 I didn't have to?? Hmm

Im not in sales, management or tech support.
Just a programmer try to help people out in his spare time.

Cadlink no longer supports XP. Nobody in tech support has even seen Signlab 6 its that old. We only provide tech support for 9 and 10.

This cutter will only work with Signlab e6 if you can connect with a Serial cable.

Signlab e6 will not work with a USB connection, and Graphtec did not create a USB port driver to work with Windows XP.

This is where the confusion with working and not working has come from I think.
