TOPIC: Visual Production Manager 5.31.00 keeps crashing

Visual Production Manager 5.31.00 keeps crashing 3 weeks 14 hours ago #6413

Hello,

we have a big problem with our software running original on an INTEL NUC6i5SYH. It keeps crashing. It started when I tried everytime adding something to a queue (with the green plus button on the top left). It imidiatly crashed when the windows file popup explorer opened. I could avoid this by pulling some items (PDF, JPEG, etc.) directly from the native windows file explorer into the according queue. After that I could process it and send it to the printer. But (not always) mostens it crashed after a while at the status (printing .. 60-90%). Now I thought the NUC has to less power, so i changed to a more powerful pc, but the crashing got worse. Now it sometimes crashes even at startup.

How can I find the source of the crashing? How can I log it?

Thank you for you help in advance.

What windows version do you use?
Also have a look in VPM5 > Queues> {Queuename} and see if there is a page~.log file.
You could also look at the windows event viewer.
Look for Windows logs > Application.
You can use the time stamp to decide which event you need to look for.
Also if you open VPM and go to Queue > Properties, does it display the properties correctly?

I've tried it on W7 and W10

I could not find this

Found out at least psqueue.exe keeps crashing, but I could not find out why. Registry seems fine. Program URL hasn't changed..

Yes

On the installer DVD (or in the unzipped download folder), look for files named vcredist.....
Right click each file and choose Run as Administrator.
Run each file in turn, if given the options choose Install or Repair.
Once you have run all files, reboot the PC and then retry VPM.
