Welcome to CADlink's "Getting Started"

The "Getting Started" help session is a new feature for CADlink customers.

These one-on-one, online sessions are for new CADlink customers only and will provide you with an open dialogue with one of our support specialists. You will be able to ask any question about the software, and will be a way for you to get up and running in minutes. How do I set up my printer? How to enable my cutter? What are the best software settings? How do I output the right colour? How do I get great results with my rotary or laser engraver?

Not only will you be able to ask the questions, but you will see how to do the tasks live! Right there on your computer screen...

How does it work?

To participate in the session you need to be online with a faster than dialup Internet connection.

We use an approach called "Virtual Network Connection" or "VNC" as our techies like to refer to it. Don't be intimidated by the fancy techno-jargon. It just means that we can connect our computer to yours via the internet and actually walk you through any setup or configuration questions you may have. It makes the whole process very easy.

How Do I Schedule my Own Personal Appointment?

If you are a new customer, who purchased the software within the past 2 months, simply call our sales hotline, 1-800-545-9581, to book your one hour session. Please understand that due to language and time-zone restraints, this program is presently only available to North American residents.

A few things to remember for your "Getting Started" session:

  • A high speed internet connection (no dialup) is required on the computer with CADlink software installed.
  • A phone is required next to the computer with CADlink software installed. The CADlink support specialist will need to speak with you.
  • Due to the varying levels of security with firewalls we cannot guarantee that a connection is possible. We can pre-test the internet connection and firewall if requested. Please provide some advanced warning if this is required.
  • If required we will request that you permit full access through your local PC firewall for our remote control software. We use TightVNC as well as NetViewer. We will not request any modifications to your router firewall or anything other than your local PC firewall.
